Battery draining is unbearable. – The installation is fine and it works. Read and write speed is an upgrade. The battery drainage is outrageous. Sleep mode or turning off all background operations wont help with battery saving. I did quite a few test. I put the macbook into sleep mode when it was 100%. 24 hrs later, the macbook wont even turn on. Battery drainage is real after changing SSD.

It works like a charm – I wanted to refresh my 13″ A1502 and this device is perfect. It’s just the adapter not a kit so you need your own screwdrivers to open the MacBook. Also, in my case I had to format the SSD externally otherwise it wouldn’t install some files necessary for booting and present on the old SSD. This though has nothing to do with the adapter, just follow the instruction for the SW on YouTube and you will be OK. My sleep function work I can’t see differences. In the same session I also installed a new battery (that is not as easy) and I’ve a new MacBook now, even though mine . I’m using a WD Black SSD and performances are around 1400/1500 MBS Write speed and Read speed. More than doubling what I had before although limited by the old Mac interface. In any case the Mac is much snappier now.

A very tight fit, but works. – So on my MacBook Pro A1502, the SSD that came with it was already a tight fit, and this adapter was even tighter than that. I had to put a fair amount of force to install it, but not so much that it felt like it was going to break.
