3 are for power only. – This was, and is a very functional device which brought me back to buy two more for another property I have. This device truly is rugged and relatively durable for travel purposes as well as to leave at home. I use them in my office at home and at work and now that I’m going to start traveling I’m going to buy one for me to travel with and one for whatever property I visit to help make their situation better. I’m going to keep giving them as gifts because they are that good. It is, that’s my advice take it or leave it.

USB 3.0 Heaven – This unit is for you if you use different USB setups for other tasks. For example, I have a phonograph hooked to my computer via a USB Phono Plus. I also have a condenser mike and a MIDI keyboard, so I have an audio interface that connects to USB. Finally, add an optical drive, external drive, etc. My point is that not all of these devices have to be powered on and recognized on the system at all times. This hub lets you shut off the power on each port individually. Press to turn On, and hold for 2 seconds to turn Off. At USB 3.0 speeds, this thing is freaking gold.

So far so good. – I bought this because I have an “antique” iMac and needed to set up a new iPad (with the Type-C connector). NOTE: THIS DOES NOT HAVE TYPE-C CONNECTORS. I also bought a USB-A female to Type-C female plug. This enabled me to sync and set up the iPad. It all worked without issues (although the data transfer rate of my antique iMac is still slow.)
